Bush’s ‘Failed Policies’ Strengthen Hamas, Iran

Democratic presidential front-runner Barack Obama said on Friday President George W. Bush’s “failed policies” had strengthened U.S. enemies like Iran and Hamas. Responding to Bush’s comment on Thursday that those who want to talk to Iran were like Nazi appeasers before the Second World War, Obama accused Bush of “exactly the kind of appalling attack that’s divided the country and that alienates us from the world.”

“If George Bush and John McCain want to have a debate about protecting the United States of America, that is a debate that I’m happy to have any time, any place, and that is a debate that I will win because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for,” Obama said in a campaign speech in South Dakota.

Daily Kos

This video perfectly displays everything that is wrong with our current administration, the proposed McCain Presidency, and why Obama is, by far, the best candidate in the general election.

No, I am not talking about the ludicrous attacks by Bush - which they were.  I am not alluding to the fact that McCain is adopting virtually every problematic cornerstone of the failed Bush administration - which he is.  I am not even referring to how, in the face of increasingly outrageous attacks from the right, Obama has stayed truthful and completely on message - which he has.

I take away from this video something every American can understand, and something that we see from the highest levels of government, to the smallest shops of middle America.  That is the blaringly apparent hypocrisy and incompetence that comes from poor management, and careless hiring practices…

The revolving door of incompetence, known as the Bush Administration, is well known for its hypocrisy. They prove it with every single released statement or White House Press Secretary news conference.  It has now become all too apparent that these same clumsy appointments have been extended to the McCain campaign.  As Barack so elequently displays several times in this short speech, McCain steps on his own words almost every other hour.  He has not had clear direction or displayed decisiveness in any aspect of his campaign since becoming the Republican nominee.  What is this a clear sign of?  Poor management, and unqualified advisers/managers/employees.

Now I would love to say that everything Barack does right is because he is just such a remarkable man, but I cant.  The fact of the matter is that running a nation wide campaign is an undertaking so massive in breadth, that it is only secondary in scale to the actual position he is applying for, President.  A candidate, just like any other person of power, is only as good as the people who work for him. Time and time again, Obama has shown he has the best people, and runs the best campaign because of this.  Whether it be through fundraising, getting volunteers on the streets, exciting influential people to get involved,  staying above the negative fray, you name it.  Obama has completely outclassed every other candidate on either side.  This is something everyone should take note of.

Someone who puts the right people in place, asks greatly of them, borrows frequently from their experience, demands infinitely of their talents, and gets the resulting perfection in return, is a truly great leader.  Barack Obama has done exactly this with his campaign, and I have no reason to believe he wont do the same as President.

Hillary and McCain have both gone bankrupt in this campaign season.  Both have changed positions so many times that if they were running against someone of less class, they would both be labeled “flip floppers.”  Both have fired or accepted the scandal ridden resignation of key advisers and campaign managers.  Both have made fear mongering statements suggesting that the selection of anyone other than themselves would be a direct threat to our personal saftey… Sound familiar?  They are both playing the Rove game.  And, just like with my wealth of confidence for Barack to continue his success, I am just as positive that these same missteps will continue to follow Hillary(just threw her in to be nice, she is done) or McCain.

How can you run the most powerful country in the world and the single largest entity in history, the U.S. Government, when you cant even manage a campaign? It is no fluke that Obama has the best speeches, the best rallies, the best website, the best graphics, the best fliers, etc.  He interviewed the elite, hired the best, managed them well, and now he is reaping the rewards.  Even more impressive, the few times that Obama has been in heat, he has been the one to answer.  He does not throw sacrificial lambs on the fire to save face.  He recognizes that every single person affiliated with him is representing Barack Obama.  At the end of the day, he is ultimately responsible for whatever happens because this is his campaign.  Obama realizes that you can not take credit for everything that goes well, if you delegate responsibility or blame for anything that goes wrong(Bush).

The idea of a man with such an obvious eye for talent picking a cabinet, running it effectively, setting the bar for success through change, and owning responsibility for whatever may come excites me too no end.  It would be like actually living an American Democracy.  Somthing I feel like I haven’t done in a while.

I am also looking forward to spell check recognizing “Barack” and “Obama”.
